Young Money Beats TRU Foundation in Celebrity Basketball Game

The BET Hip  Hop Awards Weekend ended with a bang Sunday evening in Atlanta. 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne held the Young Money vs.TRU Foundation Celebrity Basketball Game at North Atlanta High School hosted by Loud Genius’s own Bria Janelle.

Despite the rough weather, the event attracted nearly 4,000 people to the free game. Although Lil Wayne was absent from the game, his daughter, Reginae Carter, and Young Money artist Ajona Camile held down the Young Money team, alongside celebrities such as Kap G and more.

Team Young Money was was crowned victorious over TRU Foundation with a final score of 107 to 104. Ajona Camile felt great about the overall event. “It was a good turn out, we brought the city out – kids, family, it was big,” said Camile.

2 Chainz made an entrance shortly after the beginning of the first quarter, and played for his team nearly the entire game. His team was made up of celebrities such as social media star BDotADot, Love and Hip Hop’Atlanta’s Tia Becca, and more.


The halftime show game the spotlight to the kids in the gymnasium. Host Bria Janelle invited kids down for a friendly dance competition to warm up the crowd and let the kids have some shine.

The star power was in full effect that evening. The crowd was surprised with appearances from rapper Fabolous,  Love and Hip Hop Atlanta’s Shay Johnson, and TI and Tiny’s Family Hustle’s own Zonnique.

“It’s has been a very wild experience for Atlanta,” said Chris Allen, overseas basketball player who was one of the MVP’s for the TRU Foundation team. “There was good competition towards the end of the fourth quarter.”

2 Chainz capped off the night with a party hosted by Gucci Mane and Keisha Ka’ior at Mansion Elan in Atlanta to not only celebrate the conclusion of the weekend, but also commemorate his birthday.
