Up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Ralo had quite a bit of celebrating in order. On the day of his 22nd birthday, he held a private listening session Sunday night for his new mixtape #FamericanGangster2.
The event was held at Atlanta’s Medusa Lounge and was hosted by Streetz 94.5 radio personality Ferrari Simmons while Stuey Rock kept the music going for the night. Food was served an guests were able to enjoy a stocked bar before the festivities began.
The new project, which features appearances from Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Birdman, and more consists of 16 tracks and production from Zaytoven, Southside, and more.
Several of the songs on the mixtape including “The Dopeman” and “Calm Down Ralo” tell the story of many of the obstacles the rapper faced on his rise to success.
Ferrari Simmons weighed in on his thoughts on the new project. “My favorite song is Young N**** featuring Young Thug and Lil Yachty,” said Simmons. “[Ralo] actually premiered it on Streetz 94.5 Friday, I think that is a great one for radio”.
Ralo took an intermission to answer questions from social media and the event attendees.
“It took about 3-4 months,” said Ralo when asked about how much time was spent working on the project. Ralo also went on to surprise the audience by announcing his partnership with Gucci Mane on a new mixtape slated for a summer release.
“Today has been one of the best days of my life,” said Ralo. “I’m humbled, I’m thankful, and, you know, Gucci Mane just gave me half a million dollars so, you know how that goes.”
